If you’re a passionate cyclist, you probably know all about the Rapha Cycling Club. Developed by Rapha – the go-to premium label for cycling gear – it has helped to build a community of enthusiasts the world over that extends beyond its specialist performance wares. Now, Rapha is giving its top tier loyalists a chance to own something even more special: a mechanical wristwatch. Built by fellow British label Bremont, a watchmaking label known for its aviation and adventure-seeking timepieces, has dedicated an MBIII model to the Rapha cause. But don’t expect this first-ever timekeeping collab between the pair to be one that pro cyclists would consider as part of their serious bike ride. This won’t be able to calculate the miles you’ve clocked in an instant or even display the calories burnt. What this black DLC-coated titanium timekeeper will do, however, is to provide a flex for those inactive days when you’re pulling up at the café in one of Rapha’s sweats sans the bike. Fellow cycling club members will recognise the swag in all of its subtlety, from the Rapha logo at 6 o’clock and on the rotor to the Rapha pink seconds hand.
