Tired of all the regular-shaped handbags in your rotation? The truth is, even fashion houses are getting sick of sketching and remaking the same damn shapes too. Loewe, however, doesn’t have stale ideas as an issue as it continues to toy with the offbeat thanks to the expertise of its leather-making arm and the expansive imagination of Jonathan Anderson (he has attempted shapes recalling a bird’s nest, a Chinese dumpling, an elephant, a bolster, a snail, and even one that looks like a jerry can). But don’t think that every shape has to be as radical as the next. The latest from the Loewe camp comes in the form of a moon bag called Luna, a half moon-shaped hobo-style carrier that has been all the rage in the last couple of years amongst millennials who were either too young to remember the design or weren’t even around on this planet for its first fashion peak in the ‘90s. What makes Loewe’s version of the crescent moon-shaped bag different is the inclusion of a curved double lip closure that lets you slip in and out items without the trouble of fumbling on one of those fancy locks or work around a zip with your long manicured nails. Others will be wondering how you access the bag so easily to pull out a phone or a lipstick. Slim and fits right under the arm easily, there are also a couple of luxe options of the Luna too choose from such as smooth calfskin leather in earthy colourways and others in anagram jacquard.
