For all The Matrix fashion references that you might be expecting this holiday season due to the release of the fourth film in the sci-fi franchise (The Matrix Resurrections), you might already be hoping to see labels like Balenciaga and Vetements running riot with their all-black wares and OTT frames. But guess what? The stars of The Matrix Resurrections were out at the premiere serving looks from designers we never knew would be willing participants of The Matrix movie codes. Take Carrie-Anne Moss who plays the iconic pre-Y2K heroine Trinity. She arrived at the San Francisco premiere all set to sweep red carpet honours in a bespoke Oscar de la Renta special that was standard glam on the top and futuristic cool below the waist. Paired with a sheer cape, the main draw of this dress worn by the Canadian actress is the digital rain pattern that expertly embroidered on black silk chiffon. Silver and green sequins provide that popular culture nod that one wouldn’t expect from a storied house like Oscar de la Renta. One thing’s for sure, many that night were bowing their heads to Moss – admiring her dress and paying due respect to the badass boss that she is.
