Okay, this is probably the moment that you figure out how much of a Star Wars geek you are because Kross Studio – the same guys who manifested into reality a 1989 Batmobile desk clock – is selling a prized collector’s set featuring a screen-used kyber crystal and a sized-down replica of its orange container as well as a newly manufactured tourbillon wristwatch based on the idea of the Death Star. (You can probably stop reading now if all these jargons don’t make any sense to you.) While the kyber crystal is a big deal in the sci-fi franchise as it is the crux of the Jedi lightsaber’s life force as well as the main fuel for the Death Star's superlaser – we know you’re lost – the main talking point here is the manual-winding tourbillon wristwatch, which only has 10 pieces up for sale. Kross Studio, which is led by the folks behind the now-defunct RJ, has absorbed the remaining licences from the aforementioned including this project that has the blessing of Lucasfilm. Appealing to only the top-tier of Star Wars nerds, being particular about the details behind the inspiration is perhaps more of a serious topic than the mechanism itself. (And mind you, this is still a tourbillion wristwatch.) Kross Studio has included more than a few Easter eggs within this 45mm black DLC-coated titanium watch to tickle the fancy of a Star Wars newbie: the hour hand is fashioned after the Imperial-Class Star Destroyer, the minute hand after the Super-Class Star Destroyer, and even the tourbillon cage is shaped after the Death Star with a green dot representing the superlaser. The damage? US$150,000.
