Japanese designer Tomo Koizumi isn’t yet a household name. But if you’re a betting gal, it might be time to start investing in his work. Having first burst into the spotlight last February when the in-crowd of New York Fashion Week appeared at his impromptu fashion show held in the basement of a Marc Jacobs store in SoHo – sounds rad, doesn’t it? – his colourful ruffled dresses have now ascended to cult fashion status. While his precious clothing are still made in limited quantities for a select crowd, the LVMH Prize finalist is now cashing in on that viral moment with a capsule collection for Emilio Pucci for spring-summer 2021. Although the clothing falls under a co-branded name tag, his signature ruffles are still a predominant feature of this 11-piece collection. Pucci’s signature Vetrate print is used as a blueprint for the swirling orange, pink and yellow colours on foundational white. Unlike his own creations, these dresses are also available in flirty minis for those garden parties you’ve pencilled in for next spring. Just make sure you’re scented like a fresh bouquet too.
