The making of the 25th James Bond film, then loosely known as Bond 25, has been plagued by multiple setbacks including lead actor Daniel Craig’s supposed reluctance to return for one last hurrah to serious on-set injury he sustained whilst filming in Jamaica which led to production delays. But alas, we are now here in December, merely months away from the April 2020 release of No Time to Die. This nearly half a year hyping of a movie is pretty unusual for the super spy franchise considering even mega films like Star Wars only started pulling out all the stops a month prior to its release date. But let’s be honest, not even Star Wars has 25 films in its CV which makes this milestone all the more impressive. One of the first stops of James Bond’s charm offensive is this Omega wristwatch launch in New York City to unveil the official timekeeper the fictional spy will be wearing in the movie. For the last 25 years, Bond has also been loyal to the Omega brand and its Seamaster Diver model. What is important for fans is that this same wristwatch that the lead actor wears in the movie will also be commercially available, sans the high-tech fictional spyware modification that 007 is often optioned with. No Time to Die’s version which was unveiled by the actor himself, in the presence of Omega CEO as the film’s producers, features vintage touches that that even Sean Connery would appreciate. The wristwatch will be available from February.
