Time flies doesn’t it? Before you know it, you’re blowing the cake to your 70th birthday just like Japanese sneaker brand Onitsuka Tiger. But don't mistake Onitsuka as old-fashioned; quite the contrary, it’s become reputable for its creatively reinterpreted sneakers - note their high-profile collab with Givenchy - and hype streetwear. So to celebrate its 70 years of existence, Onitsuka has hooked up with seven designers to drop some limited-edition collections, one of them being Takayuki Chino (CINOH), the 2019 winner of the Tokyo Fashion Award with a penchant for sleek, contemporary silhouettes. Featuring a clean-white sneaker, jacket and pants, the three-item capsule is the perfect homage to Onitsuka’s increasingly athleisure legacy. And with the items as comfortable and movement-happy as Chino’s other works along with just the right amount of subtle Onitsuka Tiger flex, one should seriously cop them for their direct work-to-play ensemble. 70 years of experience should assure you that.
