For Gucci’s pre-fall 2019 campaign, creative director Alessandro Michele takes us to the temples of Selinunte Archaeological Park in Sicily. Venice Beach-inspired characters such as rollerbladers, bodybuilders, surfers, and hardcore punks are displayed against the site dating back to the 7th century BC in a modern-day version of a symposium. The after-banquet gathering is where individuals and groups would come and socialize with the accompaniment of music, dancing, poetry readings, and long conversations. The vibrant campaign sees pieces from the pre-fall collection including velvet blazers, handbags, monogrammed pants, shorts, jewelry and more, set against the surroundings like the Temple of Hera. Take a look at Gucci’s latest campaign in the images above.
