You’ve probably heard of the saying, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” Well, Delvaux would kindly disagree with its launch of Madame Chaine, a revamped look of its 1977 “Maronnier” bag (also known as The Madame). While The Madame is a classic piece that represents a ‘70s decade of liberation and practicality, it’s been over 40 years and entering 2019, it was about time for Delvaux to switch things up to suit the times. Think Sylvester Stallone’s Rocky to Michael B. Jordan’s Creed. Same premise, same history, different story. The clasp, once leather, is now metallic. That way, it’s become sturdier and more secure than before, especially in times of uncertainty. The handle, once a leather strap, now comes in either a short or long chain, which will give you attitude in the night club of your choosing. While classics will always have a place in history, Delvaux shows us that it’s what we make from it that pushes us forward.
