If there was a unanimous real estate to announce your arrival onto the fashion scene in Hong Kong as well as put up a good challenge in this competitive retail landscape, it would be on Paterson Street in Causeway Bay, which is part of a shopping area known as Fashion Walk. This was the postal code that Vivienne Westwood selected for the launch of their flagship store in Hong Kong, which also houses their famed café concept. What is new to this 3,000 square feet area is the introduction of a fresh image for the British label that fits in with the namesake designer’s mantra on sustainability such as the raw appeal of the décor as well as the use of eco-friendly materials. The café, on the hand, features a small library that is said to house some of the Dame Westwood’s fave books. As with such grand plans, the opening day concurred with the star-studded turnout that included creative director Andrea Kronthaler, Korean actor-singer Lee Joon-gi, and local actress Charmaine Sheh, just to name a few.
