Untimely closet raids are one of those things that fashionable moms and siblings have to deal with. While at times it’s adorable to find your lil’ one wearing your date night dress of yore (it’s a testament to your great taste) or your younger sis pulling off a black dress better than you (well, that’s subjective), there are also days when you can’t find your fave skirt in its usual closet space because it’s on an unofficial loan. Well, it’s time for all of this nonsense to stop. Gucci’s solution comes in the form of the DIY programme (read: customisation) that puts your initial to your clothing item, footwear, and accessories. The good news for those who already know about this programme is that the personalised touch is now coming to knitwear, which means this winter your daughter isn’t stealing your fave cold weather Gucci sweaters anymore. At the centre of this programme for men and women are the choice of four base colours for a crewneck sweater, a shawl collar bomber, and a cardigan – all made from the finest wool. Your so-called trademark on these wares is in the initial that reps your name, one that Gucci will knit onto each piece, collegiate-style. The crewneck sweater features the large letter of choice on the front and the cardigan and bomber will have your letter on the back. Call this marking your territory – unless of course they share the same initial as you do.
